Upon receiving your order and half-down payment, you will be emailed a questionnaire to fill out and upload photos for reference. This will enable me to collect details about the people, places, keepsakes, locations, pets and other things important to you that will help me to visually tell your story. Once I have received your completed questionnaire, I find it helpful to have a brief phone call or video chat to get to know you, answer any questions, discuss details of your questionnaire and plan out your map. Then the art begins! The first thing you will get from me is a rough sketched map with explanation. Following your feedback, you will then receive the completed line art and have a chance for edits. Once approved, the next step would be to add colors and render the images with shading and highlights. Story pages are compiled and edited after all artwork has been finalized. Each story is presented to you for clarification and editing. Upon final payment, digital files are sent to you and a canvas print is ordered. Expect up to 4 weeks for delivery of your Life Map Canvas print.

Your life Map will be made up of several illustrated experiences depicting different events, people, places or moments as described by you. An experience refers to the small grouping of 1-5 objects or images that make up one memory or story. For instance, three people on a couch watching a movie might represent the first time you met or a man fishing with the Teton Mountain Range in the background represents a fond memory of Dad. Each scene will include as much detail as possible to include the people, pets, clothing, certain foods or buildings, cars, etc. that best conveys the feeling of that memory. Keep in mind that it is a stylized, artistic representation of the details provided.

Plan on 4-8 weeks from start to finish for completion of your Life Map and delivery of the digital file. I can also accommodate rush orders of less than four weeks for an additional fee (Please inquire). Timeframes are subject to change at any time.

The Story Behind the Pictures offers a deep-dive into the history behind each image. This offers viewers a chance to read the individual stories catalogued on your custom map. Prices on the site include the story pages, but can be excluded for a discount of the total cost. Custom Backgrounds offer a unique feel to your map that help it stand out. Anything such as a modern tablet, papyrus paper, cave wall or ancient scroll on which your custom images are placed. * These add-ons are an additional cost and depend on the scope of the work.

Illustrated Life Maps look great on just about anything from Premium Paper to Canvas to Acrylic. The price includes a stretched canvas print. Additional Printing costs vary depending on size and material. The digital file is yours to use for any printing services you like.
